Breakfast acrobatics for mummy!

JJ had some oatibix for breakfast (using a random box of formular I had in the cupboard as we had run out of milk). He didn't eat much so I tried a banana but most of it went onthe floor. I did interrupt his breakfast by trying to chase the dog (and a visiting dog) off the flowerbed and ended up tripping over and siding spreadeagled accross the grass. So glad it was early and hopefully no one saw. I came back in covered in mud and grass stains, laughing so hard I could barely breathe and it strangely distracted JJ from his eating!

Lunch was a wholemeal crust roll with philly, home grown cherry tomatoes and cinnamon apples which went down very well.

JJ has started having snack in the afternoon and today this was at his friend Luca's christening party where he had some sandwich and a couple of other bits and bobs.

For tea he had a bit of a mixture as we were a bit late back: a slice of fruit toast, a packet of steamfresh veg, a couple of bit of chicken in a crurry flavoured almond and yogurt sauce and banana and yogurt. Quite a mix but he enjoyed it.

Omlette

JJ had an interested breakfast today - I took some video as I never really pay much attention to breakfast on here but was often the meal which caused the most stress so thought it might be helpful to others to see him eating - However he had a really bad breakfast and generally just threw stuff on the floor - typical!

Lunch was an omlette - a first for JJ. He has never had proper eggs before - just eggs in other things like pancakes. He had a cheese omlette and loved it. He also had some mango and a cheese and apple scone left over from yesterday.

For tea JJ had some mash, carrot and mackerel. He loved the carrot and fish but was not so keen on the mash toady. He also had some yogurt and some pear. It could have been the longest meal in history - he was definitely on a go slow!

Fish and potato pie

JJ tried ready break for breakfast this morning. I spoke to the HV yesterday and she said that JJ's shredded wheat may not be enough and that the fruit he eats too doesn't count as it must be cereal. When I asked why she said it was because of the iron and vitamins added to things like wheatabix...what did the world do pre fortified cereals I ask! She also said that babies his age usually eat 1 1/2 wheatabix for breakfast - I don't think JJ usually eats that much. So I thought I would try some ready break for JJ to try like he eats yogurt. Well he hated it - and I can't blame him really. He was reaching on his tray like he wanted his usual so that's what he had (and bitesize Oatibix does have the added goodies!!).

He had his usual amount - I decided to stop worrying as I just don't think he is that hungry at breakfast - he doesn't have that much milk from me either. Gonna chill out and remind myself how well he is doing and he will eat what he needs as he has always done.

For lunch he had some potato and fish pie which we had last night and he loved it - he ate lots! He also had some nectarine but after a bowl full of pie he had no room left!

For tea he had some cheesy pasta again with some veggies. I bought some of the steamfresh packs for quick fixes and they were great - ready really quickly. Probably not as good as fresh but frozen does come pretty close nowadays (although not organic but never mind!). He enjoyed it but didn't really eat that much but he did enjoy his yogurt.

1st breakfast

I have decided to give JJ breakfast as he seems to get cross when I eat mine! He has had a few toast crusts previously but wanted to give him something else so today he had bite size shredded wheat which I soaked in a little bit of formula until it was just soft (couldn't be bothered expressing for such a tiny bit and am not sure I can give him cows milk yet). He managed really well with it and seemed to enjoy it (if saying "mmm" constantly counts as enjoying it!).
