roast

On Monday he had some swwet potato and veggies at some point and also watermelon. For tea he had cheesy pitta, butterbeans and watermelon. He absolutely loved the butterbeans!!

Tuesday he had fruit toast for breakfast as he was feeling poorly and I thought something new would help. In the end he had some oatibix too but not much.

Lunch was a huge hit as he had mashed up boiled egg with a bit of mayo spread on slices of french bread. He absolutely loved it! He was licking off the egg and then gobbling up the bread. A big success!

For tea he had roast dinner - lamb, roasties, mash carrots and broccoli and then had cinnamon apples for pudding. He loves roast dinner. Despite his horrid cough he has been eating really well. Probably needs the energy as he wil not sit down and insists on standing at every oppertunity!

You give him oatibix?

We don't have that here, but we do have weetabix, is that the same thing?

How do you feed it to JJ? It's this piece of dried cereal, isn't it?

he's got a wonderful appetite it's such a joy to watch the videos! :)

Hi Rayhana,
Yeah oatibix are a bit like weetabix - made by the same people - but made with oats instead of wheat. We give him the bitesize ones which are really small. We just dunk them in milk and he eats then up. He quite likes sucking the milk out first though!
Thanks for the comments!
Can't believe you are in Malaysia -wow! I'm jealous!

Hi Laura,

Tks so much for your replies, much much appreciated!

Ah, you guys have bitesized ones.. that helps. Weetabix here is one huge chunk of wheat.. even I'd choke on it if I did not put milk in it :p

Yes I am half way around the world! :P
Why would you be jealous?
Sand, sea, sun?

Yep sun, sea and sand about sums it up!!
We also give Jacob ordinary weetabix sometimes, we just break it up into about 5 or 6 pieces, dip it in milk for a couple of seconds and then he gobbles it up. It's just easier with the bitesize ones (they do bitesize weetabix here too but they have added bits like choc chips, nuts etc so we go for the plain oat ones!). Are you weaning you LO? How is it going?

ds's almost 10 months, has his ups and downs (teething, cold, fever, etc) but i think he's doing quite ok..
although there's the occasional spoon-feeding (i.e. i load up the spoon and he jams it into his mouth..)..

but i really don't think he'd figure out how to eat porridge like JJ does! amazing! and the speed.. ;)

i managed to find some rice cakes the other day but they contain salt. ds likes them though. and i think soup where you are is quite thick, here soup is clear.. hmm. :)
